  • September 30, Day 1
Saturday brought a beautiful bright sunny day to Brant Beach Yacht Club on Long Beach Island in NJ. Alex Bernal flew in from USC the night before and Matt Wake of Sturgis Boat Works drove in from Cape Cod with a fleet of new PS2000 29ers.

Alex provided rigging tips as the ten sailors set the boats up to go out on the water.

A SE sea breeze of 12-18 knots along with a light chop on the bay made for some great fast rides for all.

  • October 1, Day 2
Early Sunday morning, we all stood at the club in torrential rain and 30-plus knot gusts. Only minutes later the rain stopped, the sky turned sunny and cloudless and the wind dropped off to 8-10 knots for the rest of the day. BBYC ran six races for the Optimist, Sunfish, Laser, 420 and 29er's.

Dr. Bub Kovacs and John Barbano did an amazing job of running starts and finishes in an incredibly efficient manner. Alex used the quick race venue to help all the sailors improve their skills in real course conditions. BBYC hosted a barbeque afterwards back on shore. A wonderful start to 29er sailing in NJ!
