• 2007 29er Midwinters East
  • The 2007 29er Midwinters East will be sailed over three days at the Sarasota Sailing Squadron, Florida, on the 9th to 11th of February. The last time the 29ers were at this venue was the Midwinters of 2002 at which US Sailing and the Canadian Yachting Association picked their teams for the ISAF World Youth Championships in Lunenburg. Prior to CORK this year, it was probably the most successful North American 29er regatta ever sailed.

    Event Details
It is a terrific racing venue, the Club is overwhelmingly hospitable, the RC work of Allan Broadribb is impeccable and the regatta fees are kept to a minimum as a club policy. The fees this year will be $80.00 PER BOAT and the crews will have three breakfasts and a dinner included in this. Camping is free on the Club property.

    Charters and Teams Coming
PS2000 is going to supply 10 charter boats on a first come basis. It is a long haul with the boats there and back which necessitates a charter fee of US$750.00 to cover those costs. Competitors will bring their own sails. We are expecting a huge turn out as Canada is using this regatta as their qualifier for the ISAF Youth's in Kingston next July. The venue was moved from Jensen Beach following a polite request from the CYA, to the Class, to try and find a venue more suited to the conditions likely to be experienced in Kingston. We are also expecting some of our Caribbean and Bermudan friends.
For more information on the charters, contact peter@ps2000.ca.

    Clinics
Clinics are being organized by the Class and PS2000 for the 7th and 8th and the Club has made us welcome on the site all that week. There will be more details on the clinics when the NOR is posted on this site, which should be very shortly when Allan and the Class have it sorted.

    Don't Miss It!
Don't miss this one - particularly if you are a US youth competitor putting together your CV for selection to the US Youth Nationals at which US Sailing will pick their male and female ISAF teams.
