Here's How:

For this year's NE Grand Prix, the winners will win a brand new spinnaker courtesy of PS2000. Champions are also crowned with heavyweight fighting style belts with which you will make all of your friends jealous. So how about some more details? Here goes.

Grand Prix Schedule:
  • 1. ARK & YOTS, Bedford Basin YC, Nova Scotia, July 13-14
  • 2. Canadian Championships, Kingston YC, Ontario, July 26-27
  • 3. Buzzard's Bay Regatta, Beverly YC, Massachusetts, August 1-3
  • 4. North American Championship, CORK, Ontario, August 16-20
  • 5. Mid-Atlantic Championship, Annapolis YC, Maryland, August 22-24

Scoring and Rules:
  • 1. Teams are scored together
  • 2. Your top 3 events are scored for your grand total
  • 3. Only class members in good standing earn points. (Both skipper and crew must be either US or Canadian members before the start of an event.)
  • 4. Points are awarded based on a fleet size factor. Grand Prix Points = finishing position points x fleet size factor.
    Finishing position points are awarded on a scale such that 1st gets 20 points, 2nd gets 19 points, on down to 2 points ane everyone else is awarded 2 points.
  • Fleet size factor:

    1-10 boats 1
    11-20 boats 1.25
    21-30 boats 1.5
    31-40 boats1.75
    41-50 boats2
    51-75 boats 2.5
    76-100+ boats3
