- Spinnaker Halyard / Retrieval Line Setup
Here is a quick and easy solution to keep your Halyard from re-cleating during take down and keeping the slack out of the way.
- Anti-Cleating Set-up
To keep the spinnaker halyard from re-cleating simply tie some bungee cord from the center bar to the outer bar. The bungee keeps the spinnaker halyard up and out of the reaches of the cleat during take down. In the photo this set-up has a plastic tube to protect the bungee from the friction of the halyard. It is simply taped in place.
- Retrieval Liine Set-up
To keep the spinnaker halyard slack neat and out of the way use a thin diameter bungee and 2 small blocks. As you look at the photo you see that one block is TIED to the rear of the hiking strap eyelet.
You can attach/tie the bungee to either the center bar as the photo shows or the base of the block on the spinnaker line. Also you can vary the length of the bungee for optimal performance.
This simple set-up works very well and is easy to do!
